MIDDLE SCHOOL LEAGUE INFORMAITON

The Vipers Middle School team was established in the spring of 2022 with the sole focus of getting players ready for high school baseball. Today, the club has teams competing in the Division 1 and Division 2 level of play in the Athletic Edge Spring Middle School League. Athletic Edge Spring League

The Vipers Middle School team will start their season on January 8th, 2024 and runs through May, ending on 5/26. Additionally, games will start first week of March. Vipers home field will be Maria Carrillo High School. Practices will be at Maria Carrillo, Montgomery, FBK1 and Vipers Indoor facility.

Practices will be Sundays at Montgomery High School from 11-1pm & Wednesdays at FBK1 from 3pm to 5pm. Once the time changes, additional practices will be added. Indoor hitting will occur during the week on select days from 8pm to 9pm.

The Vipers Middle School team competes against teams all around the bay area. Most notably teams from Cardinal Newman (Rebels), Montgomery (Red Birds), Analy (Pioneers), Rancho (Pioneers), Windsor (Cubs), Ukiah (Dirt Bags), Justin Sienna (Napa Baseball Club) and more.

Games for the most part will occur on Sundays. Typically, they are 7 inning double headers.

This is a highly competitive league that features top players around the area.

MIDDLE SCHOOL TRYOUT INFORMAITON

When/Where:
Saturday January 4th, 3pm to 5pm at MCHS turf field & Sunday the 5th from 9am to 10:30am at Vipers Batting Cages.

Equipment:
Bring all baseball gear (Catchers bring catcher's gear) BASEBALL PANTS REQUIRED. Strongly suggest wearing your Vipers Jersey or All Star jersey or something that has your name on the back. Not required, but helps the coaches.

Footwear:
Steel spikes or Plastic cleats are allowed on JV field. But only turf shoes and plastic cleats are allowed on turf field. (NO STEEL SPIKES on turf field) PREPARE FOR BOTH - BRING BOTH!

Bats:
7th graders can use travel bats that are -5 in size or BBCOR -3 in size.
8th graders can only use BBCOR -3 bats.
No -10 or -8 bats allowed.

Format:
Tryout will cover all aspects of the game; Fielding, Hitting, Throwing, Base running and more.
Hitting will be done at Vipers Cages on Sunday.

Weather:
We are hoping to get these tryouts all in on January 4th. So, if we get light rain we will proceed. Heavy rain, we will pivot.

Teams:
We are planning to have two teams, pending the number of kids interested; One in the Division 1 and one in the Division 2 or 3 league.
